Solar Energy System Installation for Al-Khalwat Municipality

In many rural areas across Lebanon, unreliable electricity directly affects people’s access to essential services. In Al-Khalwat, frequent power outages disrupted municipal work and threatened the continuous operation of the town’s drinking water filtration system — a vital service for residents and nearby villages.

This project was launched to offer a sustainable, long-term solution. By installing a solar energy system on the rooftop of the municipality building and public hall, Istidama helped ensure uninterrupted public services and safe access to clean drinking water. The initiative reflects Istidama’s belief that reliable infrastructure is the foundation of resilient and empowered communities.
